Dearest Dad, you no longer need your Medal of Freedom because you are now free forevermore. I miss you, and will always love you. Thank you for everything.

Thank you to all of you as well for your kind words and support during this difficult time.

Might I say a few words of passion for the many joyful and even funny Rockefeller moments I have experienced. First to be in the circle of Rockefellers patronage is a wonderful thing. I met your father at a Peggy Rockefeller Concert with Gordon McGrath. I had a few seconds to say how wonderful the Irvings felt about preserving Sunnysude especially at Christmas! Your father said “The Alhambra…not just Christmas, all the cultures.” And so I got to thinking. And I told my great friend Elise Irving Boeger what he said and asked “Why?” And then wonderful Elise orchestrated the most extraordinary premiere of my Irving film at The Alhambra Palace in Granada Spain. The film ran on a loop for six months eight hours a day. One minute with David Rockefeller can change your film in an amazing way.

Dear Mrs. Rockefeller, I wrote you a while back asking about what would become of your father’s beetle collection, and you were kind enough to answer to let me know. Of course, I never had the pleasure of meeting your father, but I’ve listened to and watched some interviews with him, and he seemed like a really fine and caring man. The thing that I find so neat about him is that, even with all the responsibilities of his many financial and humanitarian commitments, his private passion was collecting beetles. I would have loved to have hung around with him for a day and had him show me the collection. He seemed like a really good guy. My condolences.

    Dear Eileen,

My thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family. I so wanted to reach out but then so wanted to give you space (smile). Your father/family contributed so much to our society that when people like him leave the earth plane – their essence and thought consciousness is everywhere!

Now a resident of Hyde Park Chicago and working along side University of Chicago Medicine faculty in the building of the first adult trauma unit on the south side & with the UChicago’s Crime Lab funding a study on the impact of Transcendental Meditation on crime reduction among Chicago high school students — I am witnessing first hand the importance & influence of the Rockefeller Legacy!

A big warm thank you to your father & family! What a well-lived life!

    Hope to connect soon.

    Be Well,
    Iman “Tonja” Ali
